Bowring Hepple Black was born from our family’s shared love of the Wizarding World™ and our passion for our historic hometown of Alnwick, which is nestled deep in the beautiful ancient county of Northumberland — famously home to Alnwick Castle, a filming location for the early Harry Potter movies.

Our name honours the three remarkable women who made our dream shop a reality. Since opening our doors on Narrowgate, in the heart of Alnwick’s Castle Quarter, we’ve loved welcoming visitors from near and far — from curious travellers exploring Northumberland to loyal local fans of all things magical.
